I’ve been robbed…

No…this is no joke. I went out to my car this morning and found my passenger door partly ajar. When I looked inside I saw my stereo was missing…my glove box emptied…and my center console emptied. I take a minute to collect myself and call my brother (IE work) and tell him that I probably won’t be coming in since my car was just broken in to.

Immediately afterwards I call 911 to file a police report and after a few transfers and waiting…I got a hold of an officer in the North Long Beach Police Department. I tell him what happened…what was lost…blah blah blah. After we finish I ask…so what happens now? He goes not much unfortunately…all you can do now is wait and hope that you get lucky and we find a garage full of stuff. I was crushed…I half expected them to send somebody down to do fingerprints…take pics…something…anything…but no…all I get is a “here’s your report number…so long…good luck.” I ask how often do you guys find garages full of stuff…the officer says a lot actually. Apparently people get greedy, get sloppy and eventually get caught. Somehow I think that finding garages full of stuff doesn’t happen too often and they were just trying to placate me. Maybe because there was no hard evidence that they felt this was a dead end. ::sigh::

Eventually I want to look through my car to see if get a better idea as to what was stolen. I poke around and I see that they took my sub woofer, GPS, my oakleys, a bluetooth headset and of course my head unit (stereo). The other thing I was trying to figure out was how they got in, if they left anything behind and why my car had no power. I find a butter knife and a plastic wedge!!! Here’s some evidence!!!

I deduce that he used the butter knife to pry the window away from the rubber gasket and used the plastic wedge to force the window open even more then prob used a coat hanger to unlock the door. Which got me thinking why my car had no power…I figured out that they popped the hood and disconnected the battery. I was right…my battery was in fact disconnected. I rush back to my apt to call the police back to tell them of my discovery…ring ring…ring ring…”What’s up?” The fucking police officer answered the damn phone by saying…”What’s up?” I say…is this the police? He says yes yes…how can I help you? I say I found the tool they used to break in to my car…he goes oh? What was it? I tell him what it is and he adds it to the report. I then ask him what should I do with the butter knife/wedge…I expected him to say that they were going to send somebody down to pick up the knife for fingerprinting. Nope…he says you can do whatever you want with it…chuck it…keep it…whatever. My hopes were crushed. I thought that after I had found the tool that was used that they would want to do something with it…but no…I can just throw away the tool used to steal my stuff. Maybe if I stab the mother fucker who stole my stuff with the butter knife and shoved the wedge in the fooker’s eye…then maybe they’ll send somebody down and care about the knife and wedge.

Maybe it’s time for me to move…or at the very least get renters insurance…it’s not as expensive as I thought it would be…like 300 bucks a year…hmmm…

Anyway…how was your Saturday?

Quote of the day….

“I’ll stab him with a spoon! Why? Cause it will hurt more!”

–Sheriff of Rottingham from the movie Robin Hood: Men in Tights

sorry to hear about your car. :( i agree that the police aren’t too helpful/supportive regarding the situation, but luckily my insurance company helped piece mine back together when it was stolen. i didn’t get back goodies like sunglasses or CDs either, but you’ve just got to pick up the pieces and move on.

  • Yeah…I remember you telling me your civic got stripped…=( It just annoys me that instead of getting a job like the rest of us…they would rather steal from others…fookers. I bet they don’t even pay their taxes..=(
