eyes=burned

I got my eyes burned on the 16th of this month. Now don’t get all fussy…eyes burned being lasik surgery. =) Things are still a little fuzzy now and again…but that’s just cause my eyes are dry and my doctor tells me this is all normal. But what I really wanted to share was when I was sitting in my consultation session with ermm…I think her name was Melissa? So I already know I wanna get this done…I only really came in to get my eye examination and stuff. But I thought it would make her feel better if she thought she was selling me the surgery…what I didn’t want to know…was what they were gonna do to me. See…she explained it like this.

They will tape open your eye, and then insert a metal tool to aid in keeping your eye from blinking during the procedure. This will last no longer than 5 minutes per eye. You may also smell something burning, but that’s nothing to worry about…it’s just your cornea…most people don’t’ smell it.

This is what I heard:

They’re gonna take two pieces of tape and force your eye to stay open. And just incase you can break the tape’s glue, we’re also gonna put a metal contraption in there as well to keep your eye forced open. Also you will smell the burning away of your cornea as the laser burns away chunks of your eye.

now I know Melissa meant well…but man…I didn’t feel all that much better about getting my eyes burned after that consultation =) but post surgery…I look back at it…and it wasn’t all that bad. All in all…I’d recommend it to anybody who can benefit form lasik surgery…it’s amazing to wake up in the morning and being able to see.
